Poetry Media: using secondary sources (and places to research)
When researching your poet’s biography and criticism on their pieces, be sure to cite all source material in your Works Cited page. Be sure to use proper MLA style (using the latest edition of the MLA available). Give credit to any ideas from other authors and always try to give precedence to your own original interpretations of the text (the poem, your primary source), but supporting it with ideas from other critics if these are available.
